The Story
Victor "V Smooth" Langston is the evening soul voice of WPTG FM — calm, grown, sharp, and full of life experience. He's a former lounge DJ, old-school record collector, neighborhood storyteller, and smooth-talking music man who believes the evening should feel like a reset. After the workday, after the noise, after the running around — V Smooth brings people back to the music. He plays the songs that feel like dinner cooking, city lights coming on, grown folks laughing, and memories walking back into the room.
Victor grew up around house parties, basement speakers, family cookouts, and Sunday evening soul records. His uncle had crates of vinyl stacked higher than the kitchen table. His aunties knew every lyric. His father believed a man should know how to dress, speak, love, and listen. That's where Victor learned the difference between a song that plays… and a song that stays. Before WPTG FM, he worked lounges, private events, community fundraisers, and late-evening soul nights where people didn't come to be loud — they came to feel something. Now on The Soul Block, V Smooth gives listeners two hours of classic soul, grown R&B, deep cuts, smooth grooves, and real conversation to close the day right.
